What is the Best Cancer Diet?

We need to starve the cancer.

Since cancer is primarily concerned with energy metabolism, I believe we need to address the energy metabolism of the cancer. New scientific research has shown that cancer cells have damaged mitochondria and operate under aerobic glycolysis even in the presence of low oxygen levels. This means the cancer cell lives by fermenting sugar. Studies have now shown that with excess glucose as well as glutamine the cancer can grow and spread.

Caloric restriction has been shown to be therapeutic for cancer patients. In a 1953 study Tannenbaum stated that, “Underfeeding or caloric restriction of mice bearing mammary carcinoma of spontaneous origin increased their lifespan, decreased the rate of growth of tumors, hindered the formation of additional neoplasms, and decreased the frequency of lung metastasis.” The reduced intake ketogenic diet with low carbohydrate has been found to treat all cancers. Ketone bodies serve as an alternative fuel which cancer cells cannot use.Read More

The optimum ratio for carbohydrate/protein is 4:1. With this ratio we can target the aerobic glycolysis pathway and starve the cancer. The reason for this is that only normal cells can use ketones for energy.

Sugar fuels aerobic glycolysis as well as glutamate synthesis. The higher the glucose levels the more the cancer grows. All studies show that glucose accelerates tumor growth.

Eating a ketogenic diet also lowers your IGF-1 level (growth hormone) and increases apoptosis or cancer cell death. This ketogenic diet also inhibits new blood cell generation around cancers. This would help kill your cancer as you starve its blood flow.
Studies have shown that there is a direct downregulation of the cancer pathway IGF-1/AKT/HIF1alpha. By decreasing the signaling in this pathway you can kill your cancer. In addition, there is a decrease in lactic acid generation from your tumor.
Other therapies that target the glucose include: dichloroacetate, resveratrol, metformin, and others. Recent studies have also shown that lowering glutamine inhibits metastasis.

Recent studies have shown that targeting the cancer metabolism by inhibiting aerobic glycolysis can slow tumor growth and spread. Therapies performed in this office now target the fermentation of the cancer cell so it cannot use sugar.

We offer personalized cancer testing with chemosensitivty to find out which chemo’s and natural substances work.

We use genetically targeted, low dose chemotherapy without side effects. In addition, immuno therapy and of course we target to block the fermentation of your cancer cells. If you have cancer you need to start the ketogenic diet with 20-30grms of carbohydrates, four times that for fat and 40-60grms of high quality protein.
